Confused? Here are some frequently asked questions:
1. Is this blueberry protein smoothie kid friendly?
Yes, consider removing the protein powder! Young kids do NOT need as much protein as adults, and it shouldn’t be introduced until your primary care doctor gives the okay. This recipes uses Sprout Living which is the cleanest and safest protein powder on the market – it’s made from natural, plant-based ingredients.
2. Will this smoothie help me bulk up?
Growing your muscles is a 2 part formula – you have to lift heavy weights and consume enough protein. Try drinking a protein smoothie like this right after lifting which will help your muscles repair and grow.
3. Is this recipe for 1 smoothie or 2?
This blueberry protein smoothie can either be one large smoothie, or two smaller portions. If this is your main breakfast, I would consume the entire thing. If you’re enjoying it along with a tofu scramble, chia pudding, etc. I would break it into 2 portions.
4. Can I make this smoothie ahead of time?
Yes, but I wouldn’t have it sit longer than 24 hours. Also keep in mind, it will thicken slightly in the fridge!

Blueberry Protein Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 Frozen Banana, can sub for non-frozen
- 1 cup Frozen Wild Blueberries, can sub for non-frozen
- 1 tbsp Peanut Butter, feel free to add another if you want more of the peanut butter flavors to come through
- 2 scoops Protein Powder, I highly recommend the brand Sprout Living
- 1 handful Spinach
- ½ cup Soy Milk, I highly recommend the brand Eden Foods
- ½ cup Coconut Water
- 1 tbsp Hemp Seeds
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a high speed blender. Blend until the smoothie is thick and creamy. If the mixture is too thick and isn't blending properly, or you prefer a thinner smoothie, add more coconut water. I would start with 1/4 cup and go from there.
- Divide your smoothie into 2 portions, or if it's your main meal, enjoy the entire portion in one glass. Enjoy!
