What You'll Need
You only need two items for air fryer crispy rice, but you may already have these items in your home.
First, an air fryer. If you don’t have an air fryer that’s okay, these can be made in the oven too. Just note it takes longer!
Second, silicone molds. I received a few comments on Tiktok regarding fear around heating silicone molds. There is a misconception silicone cannot be heated, but in reality silicone food molds can withstand nearly 500 degrees F without anything leeching into your food. I’ve used the same molds for 10+ years and they don’t have any discoloration and have not melted either. If you’re truly uncomfortable heating them though, place your cooked rice in the molds then place it in the freezer. After an hour or so, they should be firm enough to pop out without breaking. Then you can add them directly to your air fryer or oven. Don’t worry, they won’t fall apart!
Last note on the molds – the ones I used were slightly too long to fit in my air fryer so I folded it over. If you have a smaller air fryer, just cut one of the rows off. Or, search silicone molds on Amazon and purchase whichever one you’d like. Get creative and try different shapes too!

Air Fryer Crispy Rice
Ingredients
- 1 cup Sushi Rice
- 3-4 tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 2 Avocados
- 1 tbsp Tamari
- 1 Jalapeño
- 2 tbsp Vegan Mayo
- 2 tbsp Sriracha
Instructions
- Cook the sushi rice. Once done, remove from heat and add in the rice vinegar right away. Fluff with a rice paddle.
- Add rice into the silicone mold of your choosing. Place in the air fryer and bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until crispy.
- While the rice is baking, assemble your ingredients. Mash the avocados with the tamari, slice the jalapeño, and whisk together the mayo and sriracha.
- Once the rice is cool, add your toppings. I encourage you to make the whole batch of rice and freeze leftovers. When you're ready to enjoy, simply add back in the air fryer for a few minutes!
