This vegan Korean beef dish is truly elite. Before going vegan I loved Korean food, specifically Korean beef. Unfortunately most Korean BBQ restaurants don’t too many hearty vegan options, so I decided to make my own with Meatless Farm’s plant-based ground beef. It tastes so realistic thanks to the authentic Korean flavors including ginger, sesame oil, soy sauce, scallions, and chili flakes.
Plant-Based Korean Beef + Easy to Prepare
I spend a lot of time cooking, so I LOVE meals like this because of how little time is spent. All you need to do is:
- Find a vegan ground beef alternative. To be honest, there are no vegan ground beefs on the market that I am in love with. I chose Meatless Farm because it’s lighter than other meat alternatives that are heavy and oily. It still has canola oil and unspecified “natural flavors” which I can’t trust. If you’re a new vegan and are looking for realistic alternatives to help you through the transition, the meat alternatives are fine. If you’ve been vegan and are looking for everyday options, try crumbled tofu, lentils, or mushroom walnut meat (finely chopped mushrooms & walnuts) cooked with the same ingredients.
- Cook with authentic Korean flavors. To the ground beef, mix in minced garlic, ginger powder, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Here’s what’s in my pantry:
- Top with Korean flavors. Sprinkle chopped green onions and red chili flakes on the final product.
